Giving Hands" Volunteer Bank

The "Dar as Mãos" Volunteer Bank is an APEPI project that was set up in 2011 in partnership with various services/institutions in the municipality in order to make the most of synergies. This project originated from a growing awareness of the importance of setting up a structure to promote good volunteering practices, as well as APEPI's sensitivity to promoting conditions that would allow volunteers to be properly integrated into institutions, maximising the potential of their contributions to the institution where they volunteer. The Volunteer Bank centralises the registration of potential volunteers and ensures that their profile is assessed through an interview conducted by an APEPI psychologist, who will then be channelled to the different partner institutions, according to the needs and interests of the volunteers. Its premise is to give the time you have left for the benefit of others.
