The implementation of Monitoring and Control Zones (MCZ) is part of the active strategy to control water losses in the distribution system of Inframoura. Currently, 7 ZMC are in execution, being already completed 13. The operation of this system allows monitoring the water consumption and the respective pressure in the water supply network, enabling a quick and effective action in the definition of priorities for intervention in infrastructures and in eventual anomalies, reducing their duration and, consequently, the volume of lost water. This project promoted one of the most elementary factors - the sectorisation of the network, a factor that will lead to a deeper and more accurate knowledge of the spatial distribution of water losses. Opting for preventive action, instead of the recurrent reactive action, together with an organised and structured information management, will enable us to move towards greater water efficiency.
