The Xeque-Mate project is a recent and innovative initiative in the parish of Valadares, based at the General Ramalho Eanes Development. This project, funded by the Escolhas Programme, has the main objective of promoting social integration, equal opportunities in education and employment, combating social discrimination and civic participation. It aims to foster social cohesion among young people and is aimed at children and young people from socio-economically vulnerable backgrounds.
