Wellbeing Forest

Planting a Biodiversity Island with the Miyawaki Method On 22 February, 30 people gathered at @egasmonizresidenciasenior in Maçã in Sesimbra to plant an island of biodiversity. We planted 114 trees and shrubs of 23 different native species, as well as 55 vegetables. We followed the Miyawaki method and planned a mini forest on a site where part of the lawn had to be removed. On 50 square metres we planted densely and in a stratified manner. In this plantation we selected two regional apple trees (Camoesa and Pêro de Sesimbra) to occupy the upper layer of the forest. We hope that in the near future we'll see the forest grow and that the whole Residence family will enjoy this new biodiverse area.
