Teen Without Risk
Hypertension in children and adolescents is one of the world's biggest public health problems and a major contributor to the development of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. In addition to hypertension, there are other risk factors that favour the development of cerebro-cardiovascular diseases, such as dyslipidaemia. It is therefore essential to focus on the prevention, early diagnosis and subsequent treatment of hypertension and changes in lipid profile in children and adolescents.
Teen Without Risk is a project that focuses on the health and well-being of children and adolescents by determining the prevalence of hypertension and assessing the lipid profile in children and adolescents. Subsequently, this project also provides individuals with high blood pressure and/or changes in lipid profile with appropriate follow-up.
The main aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of hypertension and pre-hypertension and their relationship with cerebrocardiovascular risk factors in pupils from school groups in the Beira Baixa and Beira Alta regions.
