The "A União faz o Bairro" project aims to promote, in an integrated way, the self-organisation and cooperation of the residents of the Serzedo and Perosinho social housing developments, in favour of the autonomous and participatory resolution of day-to-day problems, with a view to eliminating the physical and social barriers highlighted in the consultation with the local population and other partners. Through this initiative, supported by a local partnership network, the aim is to stimulate a systematic mediation process that crosses needs with the resources available to meet them, acting on the social, economic and urban axis with activities that cover the elimination of physical barriers for the elderly who live alone, the creation of transversal mutual help dynamics, the improvement of employability skills and the improvement of the quality of life of the 413 households that live in the 3 social enterprises of the parish union.
