With the new coronavirus pandemic, the elderly are the most in need of care and prevention in relation to contagion of the disease, as they are part of the risk group. Therefore, the recommendation is that they stay at home and, with this, activities that keep them busy and their minds active at home are gaining ground. It is based on this need that the "Sempre Ligados" (Always Connected) Project was created, where the regular classes organised at the Évora Senior University are now held online (Brain Gymnastics, Psychology, Citizenship, English, Health, History, Physical Exercise, etc.) as well as occasional activities (Reading Club, Workshops; Webinar, Hobbies, etc.). In this way, the senior citizen continues to have access to learning, without leaving the safety of their home and all in the virtual company of other colleagues of the same age group, thus also contributing to social interaction and long-distance socialising among the elderly, which has become even more important these days.
