REFOOD's mission is to rescue food, feed people and include the entire local community, creating a more sustainable, fair and caring society. In a single action it contributes to

• fighting hunger, through the distribution of surplus food to needy families
• environmental protection, through the circular economy of food and reduction of organic waste
• civic awareness, with active participation and inclusion of the community.

The Viseu branch appears in the middle of the 2nd COVID-19 (mar2021). It is in this context of overcoming that REFOOD Viseu appears, thanks to the determination of a group of volunteers, allowing the capital of Beira Alta to also welcome this movement of solidarity, sustainability and inclusion. It operates in premises lent by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia and thanks to the voluntary work and support of local partners, businesses, as well as individuals, REFOOD Viseu fulfills its mission every day: TO ENJOY FOR FOOD.
