RAP – Psychological Support Service for Child and Youth Victims

#Braga #IPSS
The specific service for children and young people who are victims of domestic violence bases its intervention on the invisibility of these victims and the lack of specialised responses to deal with the consequences of abuse and exposure to it. Specialised psychological support for these children and young people makes it possible to structure their emotional balance, which is often neglected and seen as secondary, and to support the development of socio-emotional skills that can help prevent maladjusted behaviour. Given their vulnerability, they need special protection and attention that is appropriate for their overall development, in order to contribute to their autonomy and the definition of a life project; the strengthening of skills in interpersonal communication, problem-solving and conflict management, assertiveness and emotion management; the fostering of skills in interpersonal relationships.
