The project aims to increase the application of circular economy principles in specific sectors, in production and consumption, through the implementation of a deposit and return system for plastic bottles in all municipalities of the Western Region. The incentive system consists of awarding a premium to the final consumer for the return of non-reusable plastic beverage packaging, with a view to ensuring its forwarding for recycling and the production of high quality recyclate, compatible with the requirements necessary for incorporation into the production of new beverage bottles, promoting the maximisation of the circularity of recovered materials. In Caldas da Rainha, the deposits are located at the Bus Terminal and at the CCC Car Park. To participate in the Project and contribute to the preservation of the planet, it is only necessary to deliver PET plastic beverage containers and aluminium cans to one of the available machines.
