The difficulties that many people are experiencing in accessing food as a result of socio-economic deprivation are one of the focal points of the social intervention problems that need to be tackled urgently. Many of the families who find themselves in a situation of food shortage may, for example, have insufficient nutrients, which in turn is associated with illnesses such as anaemia, a lower immune system or cognitive and learning deficits in children. The application to the People 2030 Programme covers 1024 +10%, beneficiaries from the territories of Torres Vedras and Sobral de Monte Agraço. This consortium is led by the Parish Council of Santa Maria, São Pedro and Matacães, as the coordinating body, along with 8 mediating organisations spread across the two municipalities. The aim is to guarantee access to healthy and balanced food for people in the most vulnerable situations.
