Production of medronho brandy, an endogenous product, the fruit is collected by hand, occupying an area of 8 ha, land that was not previously used. After collection, the product is selected, and the product in good sanitary conditions is fermented by hand. After fermentation (around 3 months) the mass goes for distillation. At this stage a copper alembic still is used in a bain marie, heated by 2 electric resistors that consume 8/10 Kw, with tubular cooling. To produce electricity, 6 solar panels are used - a Raisen n-Type TOPCon 450W photovoltaic panel. The must produced, once cold, is used to compost the land. No chemicals are used on the trees or in any part of the process, and no polluting heat sources, wood, gas or otherwise, are used for heating. The production of medronho brandy has no environmental impact. Project supported and valued by the Municipality of Odemira.
