Viva Lab Porto was the first verified Precious Plastic space in Portugal and has over seven years' experience in creating innovative solutions to tackle the challenge of plastic waste.

Integrated into the international community, it combines people, machines and knowledge to develop an alternative recycling system that is accessible, creative and participatory. Through sustainable product design, machine building, workshops and training, it brings the community closer to the circular economy and promotes the valorisation of plastic as a resource. More than a technical response, it is an invitation to collective action, where maker tradition and technological innovation come together to give new lives to discarded materials. Today, the project is a national and international benchmark in sustainable design, waste reduction and environmental awareness, inspiring change and positive impact.
