As a driving force behind promoting energy efficiency, the IPVC has used various financial mechanisms to invest more than 4,000,000 euros, as a result of the approval of 3 applications to the Operational Programme for Sustainability and Efficiency in the Use of Resources, executed between 2019 and 2023, and 5 to the Environmental Fund under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, to be implemented in phases until 2026. The measures already implemented and to be implemented include changing the lighting systems to LED solutions, installing energy production units for self-consumption using photovoltaic panels, renovating the thermal power stations and other air conditioning systems in the buildings, as well as a series of investments in the opaque envelope and glazing of the buildings, as well as improving their water efficiency. With the implementation of this project, the IPVC is making a large-scale contribution to the energy transition at national and European level, achieving a reduction of around 42 per cent in greenhouse gas emissions compared to the initial scenario, positioning itself increasingly as an institution seeking carbon neutrality in its operations.
