PéPedal is a programme for schools to promote active travel in everyday life, encouraging children to walk or cycle to school.

The programme, designed and coordinated by Ciclaveiro, an association and NGO that promotes urban mobility by bicycle, aims to INCREASE active travel to school on foot and by bicycle, REDUCE the number of children travelling by car and PROMOTE children's autonomy.

We raise awareness of the importance of physical activity and reducing sedentary lifestyles among children, encourage children's autonomy, socialisation and knowledge of the community, contributing to a city with less car congestion, less pollution, safer and more humane. We also promote local commerce through the PéPedal Friends Network.

The journey to school is a fun time of the day, when children share the route with friends, keep their bodies active, get to know the home-school route and get in the mood!
