The "PeddyApp" project is an initiative of AMESEIXAL - Seixal Municipal Energy Agency, with co-financing from the Environmental Fund, under Notice 4656-C/2019-EduMove-te: Educating for sustainable mobility, promoted by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Transition. The project aims to adopt more sustainable practices in terms of the use of transport, encouraging students to walk from home to school and to their extracurricular activities in an original and innovative way. As part of the project, a free mobile phone application has been developed that counts the kilometres walked by each participating student. The kilometres travelled are converted into points and the app will also make extra points available at emblematic locations in the Seixal municipality. In order to create a greater incentive, a competition has been set up, rewarding students and schools with the highest levels of participation.
