The Aljustrel Mining Park is located in a former mining area that has been environmentally restored and aims to protect, conserve, publicise and promote the existing geological and mining heritage, so that it can be visited by an interested public for leisure, educational or research purposes. The aim is to provide an experience that is as close as possible to the experiences of the miners of Aljustrel. The park is home to various attractions, including a visit to an old mining gallery that has been restored and adapted, Roman archaeology (galleys, wells, among others), a visit to the interpretive centre that tells the story of 5,000 years of mining, but also various industrial heritage infrastructures (malacates, torvas, and others), geological (Chapéu de Ferro, Cortas and others) and also intangible heritage, such as Cante Alentejano, gastronomy and the mining landscape of the town of Aljustrel.
