Since January this year, the São Roque do Pico Cultural Association, with the support of the São Roque do Pico Town Council, has been running several regular theatre workshops aimed at various age groups.

These classes were developed with the aim of being a tool for education, training, stress reduction, personal development and community involvement. The workshops explore theatre techniques, group dynamics and the creation of short scenes and characters. They aim to develop theatrical and body expression skills, deepen artistic talent, creativity, communication and improvisation.

The adult workshop resulted in a public show, "As Cartas que Não Escrevi" (The Letters I Didn't Write), which has been performed three times. The first as part of the "Coreto de Verão" project, the second as part of the Cais Agosto festival programme and the last at the Auditorium of the Whalers' Museum in Lajes do Pico, at the invitation of the Museum's management.
