VEGetal currency

The "Moeda VEGetal" project is focused on mitigating the economic losses of a group of artisans of the intervention territory, building economic opportunities for people who have lost jobs/income due to the effects of the pandemic, and constituting an opportunity for active integration for publics strongly affected by the confinement resulting from the pandemic, such as APCO users and inmates of the Odemira Prison. Endogenous vegetable fibres are the basis of this project because they are one of the most significant materials, of the expressions of Traditional Arts and Crafts of the territory, because they represent an opportunity to value/protect some of the vegetable varieties of the territory and because, considering that some of these varieties are a problem in the water lines of intensive agriculture farms, the use of these varieties allows a positive partnership of circular use.
