In an effort to collaborate in the educational process, the parish council provided the children taking part in the project with: the opportunity to get to know the institution, its functions, its staff and executive members, its projects and the way it works, through a visit to the parish council's headquarters; participation in fun activities with the provision of an activity booklet and a guided tour of the historic centre of Torres Vedras, which enabled them to get to know the associations, traditions and tangible and intangible heritage of the parish. By promoting learning through contact with practical reality and fostering participatory citizenship, the aim of this project is to demystify the role of these public institutions, sensitising students to the need for us all to collaborate in the process of building a parish that we want to be ever better.
