Hands to the Opera

The project "Mãos à Ópera" intends to involve the community living in the Bairro da Guarda neighbourhood in a process of creation and assembly of a musical and theatrical proposal which culminates with its presentation to the community, in the form of a large integrated show. The group of participants - always with the collaboration and co-supervision of the artists from the company Ópera ISTO - will be responsible for the choice of all the elements of the final work, from the theme, to the creation and choice of texts and music to be integrated. The group will work for two periods over 6 months with elements of the Company in a logic of guided conception of the various aspects to be worked on. It should be emphasised that the process will always be assumed as the most important part and the one from which the most impactful results are expected. Ópera ISTO is a company created in 2011, dedicated to children and families. Its activity extends from the creation and presentation of shows, to the realization of workshops.
