Beach Cleaning - 2nd Edition

MAR Shopping Algarve's "Beach Cleaning" project, which began in May 2021, held its second edition in October 2021 at Faro Beach / Ria Formosa, Faro, with the support of public and private organisations and numerous volunteers. It emphasised concern about environmental damage and the impact on the ocean. The initiative involved partnerships with various organisations such as the Portuguese Environment Agency, Faro City Council and the ICNF, culminating in a workshop on invasive plants. This initiative shows positive results, including 15 partners, 67 volunteers, an average recycling rate of 32% and the collection of 2,640kg of rubbish.
