The Nossa Senhora do Castelo neighbourhood is inhabited by 80 families (184 individuals), in which we can see that there is a certain balance between Roma (50%) and non-Roma (50%). The awareness of belonging to a social neighbourhood gives its inhabitants a sense of social exclusion, if not assumed, at least implicit. This leads to the marginalisation and self-marginalisation of these individuals, the consequence of which is intense conflict in their relationships with each other and with the community in general. It was found that the neighbourhood has no educational or recreational facilities for its children and that they have experienced notable difficulty in accessing online classes during lockdown. LIGA-TE! aims to provide the neighbourhood with new social facilities, seeking to respond to contemporary processes of integration and social development, starting with children and young people as fundamental elements of change.
