Íris Inclusiva's mission is to actively contribute to the social inclusion of blind and low-vision people by developing a diverse range of projects, services and interventions centred on the development of autonomy and participation without barriers. As such, it recognises the right of these people to the full exercise of citizenship and access to a diverse set of life opportunities on an equal footing with others. The Association is developing an innovative and unique social response in Portugal, which meets the needs of people with visual impairments in their natural contexts of life, offering a wide range of services provided by a multi-professional team that works on an itinerant basis, intervening in homes, schools and other institutions, with families, professionals and support networks, thus embodying an approach of close proximity to community resources.
