A social, environmental, cultural and experimental project based on the construction and dynamisation of a sustainable community garden (vegetable garden, woodland and square) made by the hands of its extended community, where everyone builds and cultivates for everyone. It's based on the urgent need to live more slowly, as a family and community, more connected to the land and the production of our food. It promotes the concept of a sustainable community, where resources, knowledge, time, experiences and stories are shared, and consumption is reduced by making with our own hands, while recovering craft techniques adapted to the collective. It explores the appropriation of urban public space to create productive collective solutions (food and energy) that can be replicated, and to create opportunities for socialising and closer ties. The project began with the BIP/ZIP "Regar o Alto da Eira" and continues with the BIP/ZIP "Gira a Horta". There are also plans for a school on the site, a project that is still in its infancy.
