APAV is a private institution of social solidarity, of national scope, of public utility whose mission is to support victims of crime, their families and friends by providing them with quality, free and confidential services. In addition to providing day-to-day support to victims of crime or violence, APAV also aims to defend human rights by promoting protection and support for victims of criminal offences in general and, through personalised care and referrals, moral, social, legal, psychological and economic support; APAV collaborates with the relevant justice administration bodies, the police, social security, health, local authorities and other public or private bodies in the defence and effective exercise of the rights and interests of victims of criminal offences, their families and friends.
