This project aims to contribute to the transformation of Esposende into a dementia-friendly community that truly integrates people with dementia, recognizes their rights and where they feel listened to, understood and supported. To achieve this, an Open Letter to the Community will be developed collaboratively and in the first person, which reflects, aggregates and lists the aspects that people with dementia consider essential for their quality of life and, based on it, specific Guides will be built and awareness-raising actions for key actors in the community, capable of influencing other people, services and organisations to be more friendly to people with dementia, in the construction of a more accessible and inclusive community for all. A choir of people with dementia and carers will also be created with the aim of bringing people together through music, using it as an invitation to share emotions and strategies, social contact and support.
