ACÁCIA - Association for International Cooperation with Africa (NGDO) was founded in 2008 and its mission is to promote the valorisation of the individual, contributing to a more just, developed and sustainable society. We support development co-operation projects in Mozambique and Cape Verde in the areas of women's empowerment, education, health and child support.

In Cascais, we develop initiatives aimed at contributing to the socio-cultural empowerment of the population, enabling them to participate better in society. We focus on the needs of the local community (Bairro da Torre), combating senior isolation and welcoming migrants and foreigners living in the municipality. Activities: citizenship forums, basic English, study support, sewing and decorative arts workshops. We created the "Education for Adults" project, which includes two strands: Literacy for Adults and Portuguese for Foreigners, in order to combat social exclusion and illiteracy in adult life.
