It is through play that children explore and reflect on reality and the culture in which they live, internalising it. Experimenting with different social roles (the role of mother, father, fireman, superman) through make-believe, allows the child to understand the role of the adult by acquiring social rules and behaviours, thus preparing them to enter the adult world and getting to know the world and themselves.
