The Energy Community of the Island consists of a group of citizens, companies, associations and IPSS of the island that came together with the objective of producing and sharing renewable energy to create and manage autonomously green energy at advantageous costs, significantly reducing CO2 emissions and energy waste. Recently, this community officially submitted the licensing request to the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG), a necessary procedure so that the population of this village can have access to cheaper energy. Given the interest shown by more citizens and companies that have made their roofs available, the producer, who belongs to this community, has the possibility to grow the area of installation of solar panels up to 10 thousand m2 of roof area and the availability of energy to neighbouring consumers within a maximum radius of 2 Kms.
