The Reading Club is a space for people from the Sanluizense community to meet around books, authors, stories and the magic of words. Its members share their references and discoveries with each other.

The Reading Club has been the co-promoter and organiser of the Poetry and Literature Meetings that have been held annually since 2022. One of the highlights of these Encounters is the involvement and participation of local folk poets.

The Club's journey began in December 2021, when the O Cerro Foundation challenged the community to create a Reading Club in São Luís. In this sense, the constitution of the group was initiated and operating rules were created, in which, with the agreement of all, the Club's nomenclature was instituted as Conselheiro Costa Raposo, in honour of the Founder Francisco Costa Raposo and in the way the judge was known in the magistracy.
