Conselheiro Costa Raposo Reading Club

The Reading Club is a space for people from the Sanluizense community to meet around books, authors, stories and the magic of words. Its members share their references and discoveries with each other. The Reading Club has been the co-promoter and organiser of the Poetry and Literature Meetings that have been held annually since 2022. One of the highlights of these meetings is the involvement and participation of local folk poets. The Club's journey began in December 2021, when the O Cerro Foundation challenged the community to create a Reading Club in São Luís. With this in mind, the group's constitution began and operating rules were created, in which, with everyone's agreement, the Club's name was established as Conselheiro Costa Raposo, in honour of Founder Francisco Costa Raposo and the way he was known as a judge in the judiciary.
