The Official Animal Collection Centre (CRO) in Sousel, in the parish of Cano, was inaugurated on 9 October 2020. The centre, built on the former ENASEL premises, takes in dogs, cats and possibly other species of animal. The building consists of a reception, 13 kennels, 2 catteries, a cell for other animals, isolation cells, storage rooms, a room for equipment and other utensils, a feed store, a treatment/sterilisation room, a bathing area and a sanitary facility. Following an agreement with CMS, the CRO is managed by the Ecoanimal Association, which is a humanitarian non-profit organisation.
