One of the global challenges is to reduce food waste. According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), one third of all the food produced in the world is wasted. With the mission of reducing the amount of food wasted in the MAR Shopping Matosinhos Restaurant Space, visitors have free take-away packs, enabling them to take home their leftovers in a practical way and consequently avoid food waste. With this project, the Meeting Place aims to raise awareness of the need to reduce food waste and reinforce its commitment to sustainability and support for the local community.

Um dos desafios globais é diminuir o desperdício alimentar. Com a missão de reduzir a quantidade de alimentos desaproveitados no Espaço de Restauração do MAR Shopping Matosinhos, os visitantes dispõem de embalagens de take-away gratuitas, que lhes possibilita levar para casa as sobras da sua refeição, de uma forma prática, e consequentemente evitar o desperdício alimentar.
