The BioMaker Lab, an initiative of Viva Lab Porto with the support of Porto Innovation Hub and Porto City Council, is the city's first community biology and science Maker Lab, created to democratise access to science and make it more practical and inclusive.

Here, citizens, enthusiasts and creators can find resources, machines and specialised support to develop biology, biohacking and open science projects. Outside of traditional environments, everyone can experiment, learn and contribute to scientific advancement. With events, workshops and collaborative projects, the lab promotes hands-on learning, sustainability and innovation. More than a science space, the BioMaker Lab is a dynamic community where creativity, technology and biology intersect to generate positive impact.
