The "Barber Shop in the Neighbourhood" project was conceived and built by Confiar, inspired by the Association's more than twenty years of experience, with a view to ensuring the professional reintegration of its users, people with a history of conflict with the criminal law and/or deprivation of liberty, as well as promoting crime prevention in the community, particularly in line with Sustainable Development Goals 1, 8 and 10. In an innovative way, the aim of this project is to create a barbershop "on wheels", i.e., in a motorised vehicle, in order to enable travel between neighbourhoods/localities/freguesias, with a special focus on schools and old people's homes, and to reach as many people as possible, providing a free barbershop service to these people, via Confiar users, trained for this purpose, thus contributing to their full social reintegration and benefiting, concomitantly and positively, the communities where it "parks".
