Bairro Cool is part of a partnership composed of 4 entities that propose to develop initiatives to improve the quality of life of the residents of Bairro Fundo Fomento à Habitação, in Olhão. Taking into account the Central Themes and Vulnerabilities raised by the Social Diagnosis of Olhão (2020) and the needs assessment carried out with the community, we propose to work in 4 sectors: health protection, healthy lifestyles, empowerment of participants and promotion of citizenship. We plan to create a neighbourhood office (a new response to be created with residents as active elements), movements that trigger positive expectations about the neighbourhood, sports initiatives that promote healthy living habits and feelings of success, training for autonomy (cooking, carpentry, gardening, maintenance), actions based on non-formal education and peer education and an increase in health literacy.
