ecoCOAST Coastal Development Agency - ECOMAR
The ecoCOAST Coastal Development Agency is the organisation responsible for managing and implementing the ecoMAR Local Development Strategy (LDS).
The ecoMAR LDS, conceived for the purposes of the application by the municipalities of Torres Vedras and Lourinhã to Portugal 2020's "Community-Based Local Development - CLLD" instrument, consists of an integrated set of operations to be carried out in the coastal parishes of the two municipalities through strategic and operational consultation between partners representing various public and private sectors, which together make up the ecoMAR Local Action Group (LAG).
The implementation of the ecoMAR Local Development Strategy, whose management contract was signed on 15 February 2016 with the Managing Authorities of the funding programmes
Mar 2020 and Centro 2020 - has as its ultimate goal the operational intervention in the vast set of challenges and potentialities currently facing the coastal communities in the area of intervention. The ecoMAR LAG is currently made up of 36 partners, representing local socio-economic interests and public agents with a relevant role both in their sphere of activity and in the territorial scope of intervention.
