In 2010, the Municipal Archives of Viana do Castelo embarked on a journey of digital transformation. While maintaining a connection with its heritage, the service is focused on progress and innovation. The need to preserve, disseminate and optimise resources led the archive to make modernisation decisions. The digital transition project aims not only to preserve historical documents, but also to improve accessibility and efficiency in resource management. Thus, the Viana do Castelo Municipal Archive is in the process of upgrading to the digital age, ensuring that cultural heritage is appreciated and shared effectively.
