Loulé City Council, within the scope of regulation No. 1131/2020, 31 December, creates the housing rental subsidy. This support measure, which has been in operation since 2021, through a call for tenders, makes it possible to grant financial support for housing rental in the private rental market, to all residents who are in a situation of economic fragility, who fulfil the requirements set out in the regulation and in the call for tenders, in order to meet the monthly cost of housing rent. The subsidy is awarded for a maximum period of 12 months and is an alternative to rehousing in social housing.
