Municipal Education for Sustainability Programme
The concept of environmental education has seen a remarkable evolution in its meaning. It is increasingly accepted as synonymous with education for sustainable development or education for sustainability, and is a determining factor in the cross-cutting integration of environmental objectives into the key sectors of social and economic development.
Every year, the Municipal Education for Sustainability Programme, in collaboration with a number of partners, offers environmental education and awareness-raising initiatives that promote access to information and good environmental practices, with a view to changing behaviour, thus contributing to sustainable development. The topics covered in the programme relate to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the main themes are climate change, sustainable mobility, air quality and decarbonisation.
