Praia Fluvial de Bitetos is a bathing area located in the parish of Várzea do Douro (now Alpendorada, Várzea and Torrão), in the municipality of Marco de Canaveses, bathed by the waters of the River Douro.

It is a place with a strong historical connection to the river, as it used to be a stopping point for the rabelo boats that transported barrels of Port wine between the Douro estates and Vila Nova de Gaia. Today, this heritage has given way to a tourist and leisure environment, making the beach a stop-off point for river tourism and a pleasant place to socialise.

The beach was classified as a bathing area in 2011 and has lifeguard surveillance, delimited bathing areas and safety equipment. It has also been awarded the distinction of "Accessible Beach - Beach for All", with ramps that facilitate access for people with reduced mobility.

In terms of infrastructure, it offers a pleasant sandy beach, shaded areas, a bar or terrace, car park, toilets, showers and support areas, providing comfortable conditions for a day out with family or friends.

As well as relaxing by the river, the place is ideal for activities such as canoeing, water skiing and motor boating, taking advantage of the vastness of the Douro.
