CLAIM is a response from CVP Braga since 2003 and is part of the CLAIM Network of the Agency for Migration and Integration. Its purpose is centred on promoting the integration of migrants in the host community, providing a free service. It represents an essential resource in the community, especially at the present time, when migration is high on the public policy agenda, and CLAIM is one of the measures that derives from these policies, and which acts to directly support the migrant population, but also contributes to demystifying prejudices associated with the migrant population and to a daily life of coexistence and not just coexistence between the different social actors. The existence of this service is of great importance, not only for the migrant population, but also for local institutions and businesses. Since it was set up, CLAIM has reached more than 14,000 migrants. It has integrated the Immigrant GIP into its operation.
