The CLAIM Serpa/Pias was established on 6 February 2018 as part of the ‘Interculturalities, Medida + Cidadão’ project under the Local Security Contract, following a memorandum of understanding with the then ACM, Serpa Municipal Council and Pias Parish Council, thereby becoming part of the network of 92 CLAIMs across the country. Since then, it has operated with various sources of financial support, notably FAMI and CMSerpa. It currently operates with the support of AIMA and CMSerpa, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding. Its mission is to welcome, inform and support migrants living, working or studying in the municipality of Serpa, assisting them in the process of regularising their migration status and nationality, as well as their social, professional and economic inclusion. Between 2018 and 2024, it has assisted 1,547 migrants, providing 4,232 consultations.
